Enterprise Management Incentives - Furlough
Further to my June update on The impact of furloughing on EMI options, HMRC have now announced that EMI option holders on furlough will NOT lose the EMI tax advantages as a consequences of not meeting the EMI working time requirement during furlough. This is excellent news for current EMI option holders and companies that have granted EMI options.
One proviso – this applies to EMI options granted prior to 19 March 2020.
