About Mathew
Mathew is an experienced pensions lawyer who qualified as a solicitor in 2007.
Mathew is a leading figure in the private client pensions arena who spent 14 years at one of the UK’s leading pension law firms advising private individuals, pension scheme trustees, pension providers, law firms and large companies.
His advice spans all aspects of pension law, including the operation of SIPPs and SSASs, the drafting of pension scheme documentation and pension tax and regulatory compliance.
One of the very few lawyers in the UK to have completed a secondment at the Pensions Regulator, Mathew laid the foundation for a particular area of pensions expertise in regulatory matters.
He is a member of the Association of Pension Lawyers, an elected Committee Member of the Association of Pension Lawyers Scottish Group, and an alternate member of the Law Society of Scotland Pensions Law Sub-Committee.
He is also a published author on employment and pension law topics and has been cited in the UK courts including the UK Supreme Court.
