About Ian
Ian is a consultant solicitor with over 30 years’ experience advising on corporate and commercial transactional work, and other related legal matters.
Based in London, Ian is expert at advising companies of all sizes, based both in the UK and abroad, on a comprehensive range of corporate and commercial matters.
His work has seen him advise across a broad range of sectors, including oil and gas, healthcare, telecoms, pharmaceuticals, marine engineering and financial services.
Ian has advised on projects and transactions ranging in value from £100,000 to £2 billion.
These encompass everything from acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures, major commercial contracts and other projects requiring legal advice.
His is particularly experienced in:
- Corporate transactions: advice and negotiation on the sale and purchase of a business, whether by share capital sale/purchase or disposal/transfer of assets.
- Commercial contracts: preparation, drafting, negotiation and review of new business contracts. Analysis of, and advice on, existing contracts, and exit strategy or renegotiation tactics for parties already in such contracts..
- Joint ventures: shareholders’ agreements and other types of collaboration agreement between commercial parties
- Day-to-day business documentation and drafting: documents requiring legal attention or advice for those running a business, e.g., terms and conditions, privacy policies, contractual notices, contracts that need to be terminated properly.
- Advice and guidance on directors’ legal responsibilities and their contractual obligations to the companies on whose board they sit and to which they report.
- Company law compliance and administration: statutory obligations under the Companies Act and other legislation, Companies House filings and forms, company secretarial matters, completion and maintenance of statutory registers.
